Welcome to the Teton County Planning Division Website
Our mission at Teton County Planning is to be advocates of the community’s stated vision and to guide changes to meet the community’s aspirations.
If you have planning related questions, including but not limited to zoning, permit submittals, natural resources, etc. we invite you to check out our new FAQ page!
In light of our office practicing social distancing in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19 we are no longer accepting planner of the day walk-ins. If you still require assistance after exploring the frequently asked questions, you can call (307)733-3959 or email the Planner of the Day (firstname.lastname@example.org) at any time to speak with a planner. If you need to drop off or pick up anything, or visit our office for another reason, please call the office ahead of time to arrange this.
Teton County and the Town of Jackson are seeking a qualified, multi‐disciplinary planning consulting firm to develop a neighborhood plan for the Northern South Park area. The neighborhood plan will focus on physical design, both public and private realm and site planning, as well as developing the related policies and tools necessary for successful implementation. The primary goal is to develop a community vision for this area, and to expand the affordable and workforce housing development opportunities in the community consistent with the vision and chapter goals identified in the soon to be updated 2012 Jackson/Teton County Comprehensive Plan. For more information, see the complete published RFP, or visit the Long-Range website here.
Draft Comp Plan Update Released for Public Review
Over the last year, hundreds of community members have engaged in Jackson/Teton County’s Growth Management project, a process for updating our 2012 Comprehensive (Comp) Plan, which recognizes that the environment, community, and economy are equal priorities for today and into the future. With additions and directives about implementation incorporated as proposed updates, the final step in the process is a public review before adoption can occur. The draft Update to the 2012 Comp Plan and a guide for reviewing it can be found at: www.jacksontetonplan.com. Send public comment on the draft prior to the scheduled Joint Town and County Planning Commission meeting on September 14 and/or before the Joint review by the County Commission and Town Council on October 5 to Kristi Malone at: email@example.com or P.O. Box 1727 Jackson, WY 83001.

Current Planning is centered on day-to-day processing of planning permits, resort planning, physical development review and general public assistance. To look up a current planning item, check on the status of an ongoing permit, or find records of old projects, you can access them under Planning & Building Records.
Long-Range Planning focuses on the broader picture items like updates to the current Jackson/Teton County Comprehensive Plan, Teton County Land Development Regulations, and amendments to the zoning map. For more information, view the Jackson/Teton Long-Range Planning page.
Teton County has one Code Compliance Officer, who investigates alleged violations, preforms site inspections, and strives to achieve prevention and abatement of violations. For more information or to submit a complaint, proceed to the Code Compliance page.
